History 2006 BAF introduces a new coating, "microCERAMIC®“, for its GIGANT range. 2014 A new beginning: "alfi“ is nationalized under the GDR and confiscated from the Zitzmann family. Its new name is now AWF ("Aluminiumwarenfabrik Fischbach“). 1914 In an old oil mill by the River Felda in Fischbach, Carl Zitzmann and his wife, along with 10 employees, establishes "alfi“ and starts to produce insulated containers. 1948 The site at Fischbach / Rhon celebrates its 100th anniversary and makes use of the occasion to redesign the factory facade. The 100-year history of the company is depicted in a graffiti mural across the 300 square metre facade. 1987 Working with its designers, AWF presents its "alcolema 2000“ series of pans with ergonomically designed handles. 1990 A new departure: With the reunification of Germany, BAF Fischbacher Haushaltswaren GmbH is founded. A new market is opened up with restyled products.
